More efficient fun with slimline cards!

We had so much fun sharing our first efficient slimline flag card formula with you, we decided to create another one! This time, we'll focus on a unique standing box card structure with a clever hinge mechanism.

Once you have the instructions, simply gather the specific papers from your stash and follow along with our video presentation to create your cards! Each time the formula is used, you'll make a total of four cards: two box cards and two standard fold cards.

For the first example below, I used papers from Club Scrap's Pacific Northwest collection released in September.

Here, you can see how cool the card looks from the side. The butterfly hinge is such a unique and easy way to create functionality!

All of the card panels were created with the Pacific Northwest stamps. We love the combination of images and sentiments included in this 6x8" sheet of clear stamps.

Karen, my CS® colleague of 18 years, created a beautiful set of cards with our Vintage Americana papers and stamps.

Finally, if you're in the holiday spirit, check out these cards made with the Christmas in the Neighborhood stamps and papers!

You can have a lot of fun using your watercolors or Copic markers with these images!

Tools and Supplies You May Want

I’ve spent more than 21 years finding the best, most efficient ways to use our favorite resource –– beautiful paper! I consider the following tools essential to successful paper crafting.

12″ Paper Trimmer – This model is my absolute favorite. It’s a light-weight, economical, self-sharpening work horse. I won’t craft without it.

CS® Card Kits – Our monthly card kits are pretty impressive. They contain everything needed to create a dozen fully-embellished cards, including envelopes and a video workshop! Subscribe for just $21.95.

CS® Grid Rulers – If you haven’t already figured this out, I do quite a bit of measuring in my projects. A simple grid ruler is a powerful tool that can solve all sorts of crafty challenges, like adhering things “downhill”. It helps to quickly find the center of an object, and assists in creating equal spacing between elements. And, we just released an adorable “mini” grid ruler! Check it out!

Bookbinding Glue – This is a staple in my stash of adhesive. It’s fast-drying, acid-free, non-toxic, and useful for all sorts of great projects. Dispense it from a Needle-tipped Applicator, and one bottle will last a long time!

If you’d like to connect with the CS® family, consider joining our kind and creative private Facebook chat group.
