This month, Roni challenged us to create artwork using a cool watercolor frame technique.
I chose to use three colors of Distress water based inks (Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers) from Ranger for this challenge. Follow these steps to create this watercolor effect. 1. Cut a panel from White Plain and draw a rectangle in the center of the paper with a black fine tip marker.
2. Create a paint palette of ink colors on an acrylic block by swiping the color directly onto the block from the ink pad.
3. Add colors to the frame with a waterbrush, using the back rectangle as a guide.
4. Allow the panel to dry and then stamp with desired images. I chose the Weathered Florals UM collage image and sentiment stamped with Black India Ink.
5. Add a black fine marker line detail to the outside edge of the stamped panel.
6. Attach the panel to 4x5.25" piece of Cantina Aqua paper and layer onto a Cantina Orange card base.
Create several cards with this technique.
This card features the Botanicals UM stamps.
There is still time to join the fun and give this technique a try. Be sure to link up your creations on Roni's blog post for a chance to win!
