Make cool backgrounds for cards with Upcycled Dazzles from the Bright Blooms collection. I'm always looking for creative ways to eliminate waste and use what I have on hand. I encourage you to look for new ideas for items that would otherwise be discarded. This technique is a great example!
When I first get a set of Dazzles, I peel away the parent sticker sheet to make removal of the small sticker shapes quick and easy. When I did this with the Bright Blooms Dazzles, I noticed it had a fun and intricate pattern. I just couldn't throw it away!
Upcycled Dazzles Tutorial
Carefully remove the outside parent sheet from the Dazzles stickers. Gently separate the sticker from the backing with the end of a craft knife blade. Place the sheet onto the work surface, sticky side up.
Choose an "art orphan" from your stash. Place the art panel face down over the exposed sticker. Burnish the back of the panel to ensure proper adhesion.
Flip the panel over to reveal the unique background!
Trim away the "excess" sticker with scissors. (Reserve any portion of the sticker that is large enough to use on a second panel.)
Place the reserved section onto a panel with a Color Burst background. (This was an "art orphan" from a previous technique that didn't turn out quite the way I had planned.)
Crop each design as desired for future use on a card or other project.
Upcycled Dazzles Cards
The trimmed pieces adorn the front of two cards featuring the Bright Blooms papers, ribbon, and stamped images.
