Choosing a Formula

There are dozens of Club Scrap card formulas to choose from - whether you choose downloadable card making formulas from Club Scrap's online store, or repurpose instructions from a past monthly card kit - you really can't go wrong.

By selecting Deluxe Card formula #5, I was able to create fourteen masculine cards. I have avoided this formula in the past because I'm not crazy about the amount of work that goes into making shaker cards. But I realized I didn't actually have to “make” the shaker part - it was really the card design I was after!

Typeset Father's Day Cards

To replicate my cards, download Deluxe Card formula #5 and utilize the following paper assignments:

(2) Paper A = Navy Plain
(2) Paper B = Green Plains
(2) Paper C = Typewriter Print
(2) Paper D = Letters Print
(4) Paper E = (2) Gold, (1) Red, (1) Ivory (from stash)
(1) Paper F = Red Plain

Set A - (4) 4.25x5.5" Cards

Typeset Father's Day Cards

For the card on the left, emboss the green panel with an embossing folder of your choice. Stamp a Father’s Day sentiment (Haberdashery 06.08) onto a manila folder die cut. Ink edges. Tie ribbon onto a gold paper clip and attach onto the manila folder. Embellish with a variety of die cut shapes.

For the card on the right, add texture to the gold panel with an embossing folder of your choice. Punch the tag with the slot punch and thread with ribbon. Wrap the edges of the ribbon around the back and secure with tape. Embellish with die cuts of your choice.

For the left card, emboss the green background mat with an embossing folder of your choice; ink edges with Earth Hybrid ink. Cut a border strip to fit across the card. Ink edges of a round manila tab. Insert the “Pop” cutapart into the bronze setting and top with the glass dome. Adhere to the border strip. Embellish with die cut shapes of your choice.

For the card on the right, wrap ribbon chain link-style around the cutapart sentiment. Adhere to layered nesting panels and add to card base.

Set B: (4) 4.5x6.5" Cards

"Just my Type" Card: Adhere the border strip cutapart to a narrow green panel and attach to the left flap. Stamp the typewriter image and sentiment (Typeset) onto a gold panel. Tie ribbon in loose knot and wrap around the stamped panel. Add Dazzles for interest.

Card on the right: Ink the edges of an Ivory panel and top with the trunk cutapart image. Ink the edges of a manila die cut belt and wrap it around the panel. Add the "greetings" sentiment with Earth ink. Add dimension by adding bronze Dazzles to the trunk image.

Left card: Ink the edges of a manila tab die cut and ivory mat. Stamp sentiment (Primrose 2018 Special Release) onto scrap paper and adhere inside of the tab. Adhere to the top right of the cutapart.

Right card: Add texture to the inside blue panel with an embossing folder of your choice. Die cut the wide border strip to reveal just the sentiment. Ink the edges of a small round manila tab, add the ”Dad” cutapart to the center of the bronze setting and top with a glass dome. Adhere to the sentiment cutapart.

Set C: Four A7 Cards

"Daddy" card: Stamp sentiment (Primrose 2018 Special Release) onto a small scrap and center inside the tab die cut. Ink edges of the tab and adhere to the “Daddy” border strip. Stamp the large letter collage (Typeset) onto the red panel. Add Dazzles to the manila tab.

Father's Day card: Emboss red background panel with an embossing folder of your choice. Ink the edges of a folder die cut; add stamped sentiment (Haberdashery 06.08). Tie ribbon onto a gold paper clip and clip onto the folder. Add die cut shapes of your choice.

Top card: Ink edges of an embossed red panel and manila tab. Stamp a sentiment (Primrose) onto scrap paper and trim to fit inside the manila tab. Adhere to the border strip sentiment. Add Dazzles for interest.

Bottom card: Die cut “Grandpas” sentiment to fit the card panel. Punch with the slot punch and thread with ribbon. Wrap the edges of the ribbon around the back and secure with tape.

Set D: Two 4-Bar Cards

For the card on the left, ink edges of the Ivory square and belt die cuts. Stamp the sentiment (Haberdashery) onto the belt and wrap the edges around the back side of the printed panel. Add die cut shapes and Dazzles for interest.

For the card on the right, stamp the large letter collage (Typeset) onto a Green panel. Add the Father's Day sentiment (Haberdashery) to a small Gold scrap and place inside the die cut tab. Adhere the die cut tab to the top of the "happy" tag. Staple navy ribbon to tag.
