I've probably said this a dozen times before, but my birthday card stash is seriously depleted. Between family, friends and hosting the Monthly Birthday Card Swap with my CS peeps, I probably go through 100+ birthday cards a year. So I grabbed my Transformations Club Stamp kit, UM stamps (and a few items from my stash) and made five cards during last night's Packer game.
Painter's Tape Masking
The first two cards feature masking techniques using painter's tape.
To make this panel, tear one long edge of each piece of tape and align with top and bottom edges of the panel. Use Ink Applicator to apply Leaf and Lagoon Hybrid Inks to background.
Stamp circle image with Earth ink and the bamboo leaf image with Moss (Art Nouveau UM). Carefully remove the painter's tape, attach Asian coin using Bookbinding glue. Stamp sentiment in India Ink.
This card features a simple straight painter's tape mask at the bottom of the panel. Ink background with Leaf and Earth. Stamp mosaic image in Earth, Ginkgo leaf in Moss. Carefully remove tape, add bamboo leaf with Moss ink and sentiment in India Ink.
Trim three bamboo skewers (from the kitchen) with scissors and lash together using brown waxed linen thread. Adhere Asian coin and attach to card front using Bookbinding glue.
Watermark Ink Resist
The next two cards feature a resist technique using Club Scrap's Watermark Ink Pad.
Stamp the collage image onto ivory coated cardstock (mine was from Ivory Elegance), and let dry. Apply Leaf, Lagoon and Earth ink to sections of panel (direct to paper), overlapping colors slightly as you go. Blend colors, wiping away excess ink with a paper towel. Stamp sentiment with India Ink.
Lash three trimmed bamboo skewers together with brown waxed linen thread. Tie on Asian coin charm. Attach to card using Bookbinding glue.
The same stamp and resist technique was used for this card. Only the ink colors were changed. Color the center of panel with Lagoon, and edge with Earth.
Stamp "Happy Birthday" in India Ink and add bit of turquoise ribbon (from the Club Stamp fiber pack) to embellish.

Trim a piece to 4.75 inches long, and use Bookbinding glue to adhere to panel. Ink Ginkgo leaf with a blend of three green inks, spritz with a bit of water and stamp onto Ivory Plain. Fussy cut from panel and adhere to fabric ribbon.
Stamp Asian coin image with gold pigment ink onto Dark Green Plain. Fussy cut and adhere. Stamp sentiment onto Ivory Plain with India Ink, and adhere using 3D foam adhesive.
