Create a fabulous background with the Stamping on Stencils technique! I used Club Scrap's Dahlia Remix Jumbo Flower Stencil paired with stamps from the Peony, Kintsugi and Geodes collections.
I shared a card with this technique many years ago on the Blog and thought it was high time I revisited it. Gather some your favorite Club Scrap stamps and stencils and let's get started.
Stamping on Stencils
Adhere a 4x5.25" white panel temporarily to a Club Scrap Grid Paper Pad.
Position the Jumbo Flower Stencil over the panel and secure with washi tape.
Select three colors of Club Scrap Hybrid Inks and three stamp images. I chose to work with Fuchsia, Amethyst and Lagoon inks and Peony stamps.
Stamp the Peony leaves in Lagoon ink using firm pressure, rotating the stamp with each impression. This will ensure the image makes good contact with the panel through the stencil.
Using an ink applicator brush, clean off any residual Lagoon Ink from the stencil. This process adds a soft application of color to the panel.
Repeat this process with the small flower images and Fuchsia and Amethyst Inks. Be sure to clean off the inks after stamping each series of images. Use a different Ink Applicator Brush for each color family to avoid cross contamination of colors.
After the Peony stamping was complete, the panel still needed a little something else. Finish the panel by stamping the Kintsugi crackle image in Lagoon Ink.
Don't forget to clean off the ink residue with the Ink Applicator Brush.
Carefully remove the stencil to reveal the intricate artwork. Ink the edges of the panel in select areas with each ink color using the applicator brushes to create a halo effect.
Stamp over the entire panel with the speckle image from Geodes with India Ink.
Complete the card with a stamped sentiment and Nuvo Drop dots.
