It's time to get "scrap happy" with Julie and Lisa! Sit back and enjoy a myriad of fun techniques made with leftover bits and pieces from your Club Scrap projects.
Scrap Happy Techniques
Paper Strips Plaid
This is my all-time favorite technique to repurpose scraps.
First, trim scraps in a variety of colors into 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8" wide strips. Each strip must be long enough to fit diagonally across a 3-1/2x4-3/4" base panel.
Next, apply Bookbinding Glue to the back of one 3/4" wide strip and adhere diagonally across the base panel. Place a grid ruler over the strip so the edge is aligned with the 3/4" mark to ensure proper spacing.
Continue to add strips every 3/4" - repeating the process until the panel is covered, as shown below.
Flip the panel to the back side. Trim any excess paper extending beyond the edges of the panel with scissors.
Add layers of strips in each size/color until the desired effect is achieved.
To add a bit of shine, finish the plaid panel with silver Dazzles.
Utilize the plaid panel as a focal point for a special greeting card.

Paper Strip Flags
Lisa created the card below with paper strips from the Christmas Legacy collection. To achieve this look, trim a small triangle shape from one short side of each strip to create a flag (or banner) shape.
Scrappy Stripes
This card was made with scraps from the Woodland Christmas (2021 special release) collection. The alternating white and red 1/4" strips are reminiscent a festive candy cane.
I created the card below with a similar technique several years ago featuring the Pacific Northwest collection.
