Create lots of cards and a jumbo tag featuring Roost Stamps using simple techniques that anyone can replicate.
Roost Stamps
Card 1
Emboss the Blue panel with a hexagon folder.
Rub the raised surfaces of the panel with a White Pigment Ink pad.
Place the chicken wire image in a stamping platform tool and apply Ash Ink. Wipe away some of the ink from the center of the stamp. Stamp the image onto white paper.
Stamp the hen image in the center of the ink-free area. Die cut the image using a circle punch or die.
Adhere to the front of the card. Stamp a sentiment onto a scrap of Taupe Metallic; trim into a banner shape. Attach sequins using bookbinding glue in a needle-tipped applicator.
Card 2
Stamp the rooster image onto white paper using Ash Ink.
Color the image with markers. Add details with black fine tip and white gel pens. Stamp the sentiment in India Ink.
Add a hexagon design to the brown panel with an embossing folder. Finish the card with a simple looped twine accent.
Card 3
Stamp the hen and sentiment using White Pigment Ink; heat set to ensure it dries completely.
Add a simple ribbon treatment to compliment the shimmer of the Taupe Metallic panel.
Card 4
Create a trio of chicks in Earth, Mahogany, and Ash Inks; mat with Brick. Stamp the sentiment onto a Taupe Metallic panel using Mahogany Ink.
Card 5 - Carved Wood Technique
Score vertical lines in 1/2" increments onto a blue panel. Use an embossing folder to add an additional decorative element to the scored panel.
Apply Ash Ink to the raised surfaces.
Repeat with Earth and Sandstone Inks.
Continue to blend additional ink to the panel using an Ink Applicator Brush until you are satisfied with the results.
To achieve the "carved wood" look on the card panel, apply a final layer of White Pigment Ink.
To complete the card, unravel a piece of twine and form it into a wreath shape.
Adhere the twine wreath to the background panel using Bookbinding Glue in a needle-tipped applicator.
Stamp the sentiment; use a punch or die to trim into into a circle. Attach to the center of the wreath using dimensional foam adhesive.
Stamp the hen image onto white paper using Ash Ink. Color the image with markers.
Fussy cut the hen image and apply foam adhesive circles to the back side.
Add the hen to complete the card.
Card 6
Repeatedly stamp the sentiment onto a white panel with Mahogany Ink.
Stamp the round sentiment onto Brick paper using White Pigment Ink. Sprinkle with Silver embossing powder and heat set to melt.
Fussy cut the sentiment; distress the edges.
Stamp the chick using Ash Ink and fussy cut. Create a collage with the chick, twine, paper flowers (gathered from my stash) and the embossed circle. Finish the card with a matted sentiment stamped in India Ink.
Jumbo Tag
Hold the chicken wire stamp in one hand and press into Earth Ink. Press portions of the stamp on the Blue panel.
Cut a strip of Brick paper. Score lines at random increments on the strip.
Rub the surface of the strip with Earth and White Pigment Ink to mimic barn boards.
Stamp the hen, rooster and chick onto a white panel using Ash Ink. Color the images with markers.
Fussy cut the images with a craft knife, removing the smallest areas first. Complete the rest of the cutting with scissors.
Create a collage of the stamped images on front of the tag. Add the sentiment using Earth Ink.
