Create soft, lush backgrounds with the Rainforest Stencil and watercolor crayons.
Gather watercolor crayons, paper and a few other supplies from your stash and let's get started. (I used Distress Crayons for my project.)
Rainforest Stencil Tutorial
Lightly mist water onto the surface of the stencil.
Scribble watercolor crayons directly onto the wet stencil in various shades of green.
Position a white panel onto a protected work surface. Place the stencil, colored-side down, over the white panel.
Cover the stencil and paper with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Press firmly to ensure that the color is adequately transferred to the panel.
Remove the stencil to reveal the artwork.
Mist the stencil again, adding more color(s) if needed.
Add a second white panel to the work surface and top with the stencil to achieve a second generation print. Rub over the surface of the stencil to ensure proper color transfer.
The second print will always be a bit softer in color.
Set the panels aside to dry completely before adding them to a project, page or card. Let's take a look at the finished samples featuring sentiments from the Rainforest stamps.
