I am a retired paramedic and worked for 30 years as a First Responder. It seems like I’ve been waiting forever for a collection like this to come along, and Club Scrap did not disappoint! The Heroes Page Kit features great images and quotes perfect for military personnel or any first responder.

Heroes Cards

I was initially inspired by the Heroes Cutaparts and journaling tags - they made me think of shaker cards. I reviewed past monthly card kit instructions and Confetti was the winner!

Repurposing the Formula

Download and print the Confetti Card Kit instructions. Assign the following paper substitutions:

(2) Pink = (2) Red
(2) White Print = (2) Flag Print
(2) Blue = (2) Dark Blue
(2) White = (2) White
(1) Aqua = (1) Gray
(1) Yellow = (1) Brown
(1) Aqua = (1) Light Blue

Follow the cutting and sorting instructions. When it came time for assembly, I loosely followed Tricia's card designs. However, I ended up doing a lot of customizing so I could make the most of the Cutaparts and embellishments. I also added texture to select panels using a star embossing folder.

Shaker Cards

Carefully remove the journaling lines from the two Cutapart tags using a craft knife and grid ruler. Thread jute through the "courage" charms and wrap around each tag. Determine the placement of the background sentiment and image and adhere to the card panel. Apply Bookbinding Glue in a needle-tipped applicator to attach clear acetate to the back side of the tag opening. Apply foam adhesive tape around the perimeter of the opening, fill with beads and secure the back panel to the tag. Stamp "we're proud" sentiment on the tag for the card on the right.

Embellish with ribbon and sequins. Adhere Cutapart sentiments using foam adhesive dots.

Split Flap Cards

Round edges of select elements using a Corner Chomper. Embellish each card with ribbon and star stickers.

Right card: Stamp flag (stash) using Red and Sapphire inks. Adhere "Persevere" Cutapart using foam adhesive.

Crop Cutaparts and border strips to fit the card panels. Embellish with ribbons and sequins.

Left card: Stamp a wooden tag with banner image (Vintage Americana 06.20), tie with red twine.

Right card: Add red glitter washi tape (Fun and Games 02.22) to the blue strip for a bit of sparkle.

Left card: Stamp sentiment on star panel (Vintage Americana 06.20). Wrap ribbon around flag border strip; attach with foam adhesive

Right card: Cover the journaling lines on the "Fearless" Cutapart with a blue panel. Stamp stars in White Pigment ink. Add white star Dazzles stickers. Trim "Brave" sentiment to fit the wooden tag. Ink edges of tag and tie with ribbon.

I hope my Heroes cards inspire you to repurpose past monthly card formulas to transform any Page Kit into cards. I'm so happy with how they came out - I can't wait to send messages of encouragement to my First Responder friends!
