Inspired by the July NBUS Challenge on the Club Scrap chat forum, we challenged our Artist Team to make pages, cards, or other projects featuring a “frame” (or frames) designed using rubber stamps or stencils. There are many ways to achieve a "framed" look. I experimented with a couple of options.

ACRYLIC BLOCK STAMPED BACKGROUND

Mist an acrylic stamping blog with water. Apply several shades of purple Gelatos. Mist lightly and press into ivory panel. Let dry.

Stamp Vintage Botany floral image (Art Nouveau UM) in India ink. Embellish with twine.

Repeat steps with a different floral image (Jumbo UM). Use water brush and black Gelatos to add flecks to panel.

Apply Stickles to dandelion for a touch of sparkle.

MASKED FRAME

Another way to "frame" an image is to use painter's tape around the perimeter of the panel. Use Ash ink to stamp text image (Vintage Botany Art Nouveau) into opening. Layer a second text style stamp (Collections) in Ash. Use India ink to add dandelion image (Jumbo UM). Peel away painter's tape to reveal framed image.
