The Ivy League Cards are so much fun! One of the things I enjoy most about our card kits is that you can create a dozen beautiful cards while learning ways to efficiently create greetings with materials you may already own. This month is no exception!

Let's start things off with a fun double angled pocket card. By cleverly folding a single 8.5x11" sheet of text weight paper, the card has two complete pockets and still opens to provide space for writing a personal message on the inside. We've designed a nested insert for each angled pocket.

If you happen to have waxed linen thread on hand, sew the brass button onto the right edge of the second pocket.

The vertical cards are quick 'n easy. Simply form a loop of blue grosgrain ribbon, make the ends pretty with a "v" cut, and add the cutaparts with foam adhesive.

The horizontal cards are embellished with a gorgeous low profile bronze filigree element. Attach it with a brad from your stash or adhere with bookbinding glue.

I think this "box card" is my favorite! You'll begin with a long white card base with four score lines. Once folded, a small tab holds the card base in a square shape.

Next, a small hinge is created from a narrow strip of accordion folded paper. This allows the square blue panel to pop away from a corner of the card base.

Since the box card doesn't open to reveal an inside greeting, we implemented some clever solutions for the front panel. First, score the left edge of a cutapart to create a flap to reveal the greeting inside.

Finally, create a thumb hole with a 1" circle punch, and adhere the top, bottom and left edges to make a pocket for a greeting tag.
