The In Transit stamps are perfect for making vintage style handmade cards with a masculine flair.

I was so excited when Tricia asked me if I would like to take over the task of making the card samples for the stamp sets each month! This set is full of nostalgic imagery and it inspired me make some fun backgrounds with a vintage vibe.

Card 1

Stamp the images in Earth ink to give a fun sepia tone to the vintage travel images. Distressed edges give the look of worn papers and the wood grain embossing creates the illusion they are sitting atop an old desk. You can't tell from the photo, but the cat's eye glasses have a touch of clear acrylic over each lens.

Create a gradient background for the fussy cut images to rest with Earth, India and Sapphire inks applied to an ivory panel with Ink Applicator Brushes. Add a faux stitched border with a fine tipped black journalling pen. A vintage map panel makes a perfect base for the sentiment stamp.

Arrange multiple text stamps on one large acrylic block. Stamp repeatedly with Watermark Ink to cover an ivory panel. Dust the wet ink with Silver and Gold Pan Pastels to reveal the images.

I love the look of repeated imagery and these tiny stamps were perfect for adding interest to the front of this card. Pair a coordinating ink color with the background for a cohesive look.

Card 5

I was inspired to use this vintage map of the USA by Tricia who recently used old dictionary pages on her stamped card samples. The airplane stamped in Ash ink provided a slightly muted image which I tinted with colored pencils.

Never underestimate a good embossing folder. The dots and gears textures add just the right amount of interest to this multi-layered card.

The final card in this series is simple but bold with the old map as a beautiful background and the trio of transportation images playing center stage. I was impressed with how crisp the images stamped on the Metallic Sand panels.

I hope you enjoyed this tour of my card samples. Don't be afraid to let your creativity soar!
