Did you attend Tricia's virtual class on Saturday? The Podium Book project is an excellent way to preserve and display memories from a vacation or other special event. This clever handmade book features a built-in easel, and it's designed to be made using any Club Scrap Page Kit. Creating these albums is quite rewarding, and they make wonderful gifts!

Hot Summer Podium Book

To replicate my album, gather a Hot Summer Page Kit and a Podium Book Components kit - the project instructions and a video tutorial link are included with your purchase. I used the following paper assignments:

(2) Paper A = Red
(2) Paper B = Teal
Paper C & D = (2) Yellow*
Paper E & F = (2) Orange*

*Rather than four different papers, I chose to use the remaining plain papers in pairs, saving the vibrant Hot Summer prints for use as mats and other decorative elements throughout the album.

The finished album includes 32 inside pages. The book design allows a lot of flexibility to play "outside the lines" regarding placement of the photo mats and other embellishments.

You actually want these elements to extend beyond the margins of the inside pages. However, because the book can close and be stored on a shelf, you'll want to make sure the mats and other embellishments don't extend beyond the front and back covers when closed.

Are you ready to tour of some of the inside pages?

Trim 12" Cutapart title strips to fit the 6x6" pages. Longer sentiments can be split between facing pages. Use a circle die on the round Cutapart sentiments. Back the "Sunny side up" Cutapart with "Girls just wanna have sun", as shown below.

Place 4.25x6.25" photo mats back to back, sandwiching the 6x6 pages between them for extra durability.

Use a craft knife on the Wave Print artwork to create a fun border treatment.

A little craft knife magic on the palm tree image creates fun dimension.

Ribbons tied onto tags throughout the book adds interest.

Embellish the cover with a print panel topped with a laser cut wood sentiment (Beaches 2017).

There you have it - another amazing Page Kit Project you can make for yourself, or as a gift. I can't wait to fill this one with photos from our vacation to Punta Cana.

Happy crafting!
