The High Tide Page Kit has been making a splash ever since the spoiler was posted earlier this week. The response has been amazing!
Seriously, though, you don't have to be a surfer or even "outdoorsy" to enjoy this lovely assembly of color and art. Keep an eye on the finished pages created by our members and staff throughout the month to see the collection's endless potential.
You'll find a wonderful plethora of goodies in the box. We especially hope you enjoy the nifty mini water brush. The video tutorial will give you a few tips on how to fill and use it. Most importantly, the barrel screws onto the tip by turning left. After suffering through many attempts at "righty-tighty," Karen suggested I try it the other way, and behold! If you want to keep the pen filled but disassemble for compact transport, save the little black cap to keep the water in the barrel.
Read on for notes and a few extra details about the pages you'll make if you choose to follow our detailed assembly instructions.
High Tide Page Kit
Layouts 1 & 2
In keeping with every effort to avoid leftover paper scraps, check out how to incorporate the 3/4" strip on the bottom of page one. Simply cut a "v" into each end of the piece and adhere it to the right side of the border. Layer with aqua gems and a ribbon-wrapped journaling prompt.
Cut along the edge of the wave on the base print with a craft knife and tuck the Aqua photo mat beneath it. Finish by gluing or sewing the silver charm to the page.
Layouts 3 & 4
Wrap the cutapart with metallic blue grosgrain ribbon and finish with a few sparkle dots to add dimension and color.
Use a bit more of your craft knife skill to bring the jellyfish and wave shape to the foreground on the right side of the layout.
Layouts 5 & 6
Punch a 1/4" hole in the top of the cutapart tag and add blue metallic ribbon. Adhere the tag to the layout and glue or sew the fish charm into the punched hole. Sewing the charm with a needle and piece of waxed linen thread works particularly well due to the detailed dimension.
Adorn the title strip with enamel sparkle dots. It's a quick and easy process with their self-adhesive backing!
Layouts 7 & 8
Several elements on the cutaparts are printed without color to give you the opportunity to add your own style with the water brush! You can work with any type of watercolor medium, including pans, pencils, crayons, etc.
Tuck the White photo mat behind the printed wave and highlight with more sparkle dots. After all that, you'll still have enough dots for a few additional projects.
As with all of our collections, we sincerely hope you enjoy High Tide! I realize it's impossible to "blow you out of the water" with every single kit, but I have to admit this is a new favorite of mine!
Hang ten!
