Create a bright and bold Expanding Calendar project (originally introduced in 2012 Bright Lights, Big City) with elements from the Mumbai collection.
Expanding Calendar Project
Download and follow the instructions to create this fun and unique calendar project. Note: I did not have the original project kit so I made adjustments based on the supplies I had available in my stash.
Gather a variety of Club Scrap Stipple Mists inspired by the Mumbai color palette. Note: I also used a Pink Lemonade spray from my stash and did not use the Opaque white pictured.
Lay three manila shipping tags in a spray tray (aka Club Scrap Pizza Box) and spritz generously with water. Mist with spray. Create four batches of three tags each in the four selected colors.
Allow the tags to dry completely and then flip them over to add color to the other side.
Print or rescue a free junk mail calendar on its way to the recycling bin and cut out each month with a paper trimmer. Layer them onto Mumbai HPoPs trimmed to fit each panel.
Distress the edges of each tag with coordinating Club Scrap Hybrid Inks.
Attach the Mumbai ribbons to the top of each tag.
Create artwork for the expanding envelope file with the Mumbai Hybrid kit. Add the year text to the digital artwork and design panels for the front and back covers. I chose to work in Pixelmator.
Add the sentiment to the front of the painted wood stamp block base in White Pigment ink.
Adhere a Lt. Blue HPoP to the top of the block with Bookbinding Glue.
Embellish with a piece of the die cut which was a scrap leftover from the Page Kit assembly.
Let's take another look at the completed project.
