Much like when you're not sure what to make for dinner, our Deluxe Card Formulas are like a recipe you can make your own. By choosing different papers, stamps and embellishments, you'll see reliably beautiful - yet unique - results every time.
Recently, long time member Rita Braun paired Deluxe Card Formula #5 with the Dia de los Muertos page kit to make fourteen festive and colorful cards. I couldn't wait to share them with you!
Deluxe Card Formula #5
Deluxe Card Formula #5 was inspired by the Sprinkles Remix Card kit. You can see those cards in Tricia's blog post.
Set A: 4.25 x 5.5" Shaker Cards
The first set features a fun "shaker card" design. The shape of the shaker opening is limited only by your imagination.
Adhesive foam tape and clear plastic film allow you to fill the shaker with trinkets of your choice, such as micro beads, charms, tiny flowers, etc.
You can see Rita created a variety of shaker openings, each inspired by the cutaparts used to embellish the cards.
A double thickness of foam tape allows you to fill the shaker with more dimensional items, like the skull charms and metal flowers in the two cards below.
Set B: 4.5 x 6.25 Split Flap Cards
The split flap design creates a fun, interactive element on these cards.
All the layers provide plenty of real estate for additional embellishments.
Painting the woodcut black and backing it with bright yellow makes the sugar skull really stand out.
Set C: 5 x 7 Nested Panel Cards
The cutting formulas create a big batch of nesting panels for these cards. Some cards in this set will have more panels than others - it can be fun deciding how to put the pieces together.
Rita added a hand-sketched frame to the yellow panel using a fine-tipped marker.
I love how just rounding the corners on this card sets it apart from the others.
Adhering "googly eyes" and assorted brads to this image adds a touch of whimsy.
3.5 x 5" Bonus Cards
I think that sweet guitar charm (Rock Star) adds just the right touch.
If you run out of pre-printed cutapart sentiments, simply add a bit of stamping!
