Decorated Die Cuts

I originally saw this technique featured on Instagram. I couldn't wait to share it with Lisa. I just knewshe would come up with something clever, and she did not disappoint.

Stencils - Julie

Die cut the letters to spell the word PEACE. Do not remove them from the panel. Run a piece of masking tape along the back to hold them in place. Remove the die carefully from the paper.

Place the stencil (Shibori) over the front of the letters and add a variety of ink colors (CS Hybrid Yellow, Tangerine Leaf, and Lagoon) with an Applicator Brush.

Remove the letters from the negative die cut panel. Align the letters, facing up, along a line on the Club Scrap Grid Paper Pad.

Place a piece of Press 'n Seal over the aligned letters.

(This cling product has a light tackiness so it grabs onto the letters to allow perfect positioning on the panel.)

Flip the entire thing over and add a thin bead of Bookbinding Glue dispensed from Needle-tipped Applicator to the back side of the letters.

Position the letters onto the card panel as desired. Lightly burnish them into place.

Allow the glue to dry completely before carefully peeling away the Press 'n Seal.

Let's take a look at the finished card.

Bonus Card

Turn the die cut panel "negative" into a second card!

This technique works well with just about any die cut shape. I had fun playing with my large collection of Club Scrap Stencils (Damask, Moroccan Spice, Shibori, Friends), pairing them with a variety of die cut shapes.

Stamps - Lisa

Gather a variety of stamps (Fun and Games, Delft and Celebrate) and inks to decorate these fun donut die cut shapes. Complete the panel with a stamped sentiment from the Typeset collection. Isn't this card sweet? (No pun intended!)
