As I mentioned in my original post about this month's collection, it's our most neutral kit ever! Case in point: the eight Damask layouts you'll see below of an Alaskan cruise, a Chihuly exhibit, and a day in Prague.
My favorite tool for finishing layouts is Club Scrap's 8x8" Grid Ruler. I hope you've discovered what a valuable tool this can be for helping choose and crop photos for our pre-planned pages.
Layouts 1 & 2
I love how Jacqueline designed two spots on the title strip for small photos or embellishments. For a situation like this, I hover over the spot with a 8x8" Grid Ruler to determine the box size. Then, I hover the grid ruler over the photo to see if I am able to crop to fit. In this case, the whale tails were perfect!
I had spots for three horizontal photos on the right side of the spread. I combined two photos to fit into one of the spots. Again, our grid ruler helps determine the size each photo needs to be, and whether or not it will fit before I trim the image.
Layouts 3 & 4
I love how the Damask layouts allow the glass sculptures at the Chihuly exhibit to shine! The 8x8" Grid Ruler came in handy again when calculating the required sizes of the four non-matted photos added to the original layout.
Layouts 5 & 6
I often consult location and date information embedded into the digital photos from my trip to help with journaling. (Am I the only one?) It doesn't take long to forget details from whirlwind tours across the pond, and most cell phones now track this information for all images.
Layouts 7 & 8
Keep living for the moments you can't put into words, and keep getting those pages completed! We can't wait to see what you create with your Damask page kit.
Happy summer travels,
Tricia
