Each month we release an "unmounted stamp spoiler email", and I have the privilege of making cards to showcase the images from the collection. (After I make the samples, I put them on our staff's conference table and wait for the compliments to come in, LOL!)
Let's study the cards a bit more closely:
ART NOUVEAU UM SHEET
CARD #1
Use painter's tape, Post-It notes, or masking film to mask a 1" border around the perimeter of an Ivory card base. Sponge Ruby, Tangerine and Topaz ink into the unmasked area. TIP: Sponge carefully to avoid making harsh marks. Practice will help.
Remove the mask and stamp images onto the card with India Black ink.
CARD #2
Stamp the leaf image onto a sheet of Ivory plain and sponge with assorted colors. Cut out the individual leaves and layer onto a card panel with foam adhesive.
Punch a circle for the center of the flower and use a fine-tip black pen to add faux stitching to the edge of the circle.
CARD #3
Stamp the leaf image into the right edge of an Ivory panel with India Black ink. Stamp again on a sheet of Green paper. Trim the leaves and layer onto the Ivory panel with foam adhesive.
CARD #4
Stamp the leaf images onto Purple Plain with White Pigment ink. Add a pair of Painted Wood Buttons above and below a stamped strip with waxed linen thread.
JUMBO UM SHEET
CARD #1
Stamp an assortment of images from the sheet and have fun coloring with watercolor pencils. Blend with a water brush. (TIP: Stamp the sentiment first and then fill in the rest of the card with images. Be sure to stamp artwork off the edges.)
CARD #2
Use the masking and ink sponging technique again.
CARD #3
Our White Pigment ink looks fabulous on the Purple, Red and Green papers from this collection. Be sure to heat set the ink to prevent smearing.
CARD #4
Combine the heart image and the leafy stem to make the perfect February flower!
GREETING UM SHEET
CARD #1
Stamp the heart image onto a sheet of Red paper, trim out the smallest hearts, and layer on top of the Green panel. Dust off that postage edge scissors to make a cute panel for the sentiment.
CARD #2
The "even the little stuff" portion of the sentiment can be stamped with the "thanks" greeting, or separated and stamped on the inside of the card.
CARD #3
Free-hand cut a heart shape large enough to fit the "just for you" sentiment and wrap with waxed linen thread.
Wishing you lots of Crewel & Unusual card making fun,
Kay
