On November 25, Tricia taught the Magic Math Card Craft Along workshop. As with most Club Scrap workshops, once the initial project is complete, it's easy to repurpose the instructions to make additional versions to suit any occasion or event.

Magic Math Card Formula

Flower Power Magic Math Cards

You, too, can create four 5x7" quilt-inspired cards when you pair papers and stamps from your stash with this awesome new card making formula.

To complete the project, gather the following supplies:

Magic Math Card Craft Along Instructions
(4) 12x12 Plain Papers
Stamp set of your choice (or printed Cutaparts)
Ribbon and/or other Embellishments
12” Paper Trimmer
3x14" Grid Ruler
Bone Folder
ScorPal 1/8s (optional)
Adhesive

Trim and score all of the papers according to Tricia's instructions. "Deal out" the individual elements needed to complete the four cards - making sure every color is represented on each card. Add stamps (or Cutapart images and sentiments) and embellishments as desired.

Flower Power Cards

To replicate this set, pair Flower Power stamps with one sheet of each paper: Yellow, Green, Blue and Orange.

Once you've sorted the trimmed elements into four piles, determine the overall design using your chosen stamps as your guide. Add images and/or sentiments to the individual panels as desired.

Stamp the collage image onto the nesting panel with India ink. Add the sentiment and butterfly image to the 2-3/8x3-1/2" rectangle. Stamp the peace sign with Tangerine (or Leaf) ink onto the square.

I just love how the black India ink really "pops" on the bright, happy color palette!

Whimsy Stamped Cards

To recreate the set of four Whimsy cards below, pair the stamps with one each of the following papers: White Plain (stash), Gossamer Plum, Surf Shop Yellow and Blue.

Stamp the chosen sentiment onto the narrow nesting panel with India ink.

For the vertical cards, loop two interlocking lengths of ribbon around the top of the sentiment panel, taping the ends to the back side. Add the collage image to the Blue and Purple 2-3/8x3/-1/2" panel with Fuchsia ink.

For the horizontal cards, stamp the collage onto the White and Yellow 2-3/8x3/-1/2" panel with Watermark ink.

Adhere a Gossamer Silk Flower to each small square. Add a woodcut word (stash) to each card with Bookbinding Glue in a needle-tipped applicator.

I hope you'll give this fun and unique card formula a try - don't let the 1/8" measurements scare you. Once you get the hang of it, you can make any number of cards you like by trying the same formula with five, six, or more 12x12 papers. (The total number of 12x12 papers trimmed determines the number of finished cards.)

As always, we invite you to share your finished creations with fellow Club Scrap enthusiasts on our Chat group on Facebook. We love to see your completed creations!
