Sometimes, with a very special collection, the papers, cutaparts and embellishments seem to hop out of the box and automatically transform themselves into layouts. This is one of those times! Let's take a closer look at a few page details.
BOARDWALK DELUXE KIT
LAYOUTS 1 & 2
Jac designed a series of cutaparts to fit onto the set of wood veneer tags in the kit, and we included a generous portion of tri-colored twine to top the tags. (I couldn't resist adding a wiggly eye from my stash to the fish.)
LAYOUTS 3 & 4
This layout is adorned with a pair of oval stickers, a wood veneer tag, and engraved shell buttons. I love how the embellishments tie the kit together!
LAYOUTS 5 & 6
A few of the oval-shaped stickers include journaling prompts to ensure your memories are properly preserved.
LAYOUTS 7 & 8
The retro swimsuits are one of my favorite graphics from the Boardwalk collection. Jacqueline designed and colored them with Derwent's Inktense Ink Blocks with great results!
LAYOUTS 9 & 10
I am hopelessly hooked on this "crinkly" ribbon. It comes in several gorgeous colors and widths, and it responds beautifully to my attempts at making bows and loops. We included a yard of 7/8" red ribbon in the Deluxe kit.
LAYOUTS 11 & 12
Is it just me, or does that crab make you giggle? Jac designed two of them, one with the right claw as seen below, and one with the right claw turned upward. If you place them side by side, it's a waving crab. Hellooooooo!
LAYOUTS 13 & 14
I'd love to tell you that we designed the size of the vintage suit to match the size of the bronze Bermuda short charm, but it was more of a happy accident.
BOARDWALK GREETINGS TO GO
SET A
Check out the fuzzy-edged ribbon, mini red tags, and shell buttons we included in the kit.
All three elements are featured on this card. To extend the usage of the exceptional ribbon, cut it vertically and sandwich the cut edge between the Red card panel and the Sage card flap.
SET B
The set of tent-shaped cards is adorable. There is a 4.5" Sea Blue panel that is scored twice and functions as a hinge for the tent. The greeting on the inside of the card holds the tent in place.
SET C
I loved the simplicity of this card set. The cutaparts are accented with simple additions of buttons, tags, ribbon and fiber. I wrote "market price" on the little tag attached to the cutapart and added a small loop of fuzzy-edged ribbon to the top edge to create balance.
Off to the beach I go. (I'm literally off to the east coast today. We're taking a short family trip to the Virginia Beach boardwalk! Let's call it "kit research.")
