Tricia recently offered a virtual workshop for the Podium Book 2.0 During the presentation, students learned how to make an updated version of the original podium book project. After completing the initial album, it's easy to repurpose the instructions to make another with a CS page kit of your choice - I chose Bandana.

I recently helped construct an album for a high school graduate. Photos from his school years can easily be displayed and enjoyed at his grad party. The Bandana Page Kit coordinated with his school colors, and the cutapart sentiments worked well for the occasion.

Bandana Podium Book 2.0 - Details

To replicate this album, gather a Bandana Page Kit and the Components Kit. Use the paper assignments below when working with the downloadable Podium Book 2.0 project instructions and video tutorial.

(2) Paper A = Paisley Print
(2) Paper B = Black
(2) Paper C = Scarf Print
(2) Paper D = Red
(2) Paper E = Aqua
(2) Paper F = Soft White

The finished book can be proudly displayed on the built-in "kick stand", or simply close the book to shelve it for storage.

The 8x8" book features eight folded 7.75x12" inside pages installed with Club Scrap's unique U-Hinge binding system, which allows the structure to lie flat when open. The staggered pages create interest and offer tons of real estate for photos and other embellishments.

Photo mats, memorabilia and other decorative elements can extend past the edge of each short page for added interest.

Bandana Podium Book - A Visual Tour

The cover features the graduate's name and year, created with scraps and alphabet dies. Cut a medallion from one of the title strip cutaparts with a circle die and nest onto red.

An Aqua photo mat extends past the front of the 4.25" flap, so I centered smaller nesting mats on the back side. Trim border strip cutaparts to 7.75" long to fit the height and width of the square pages.

Trim the largest Paisley Frame Die Cut into quadrants, to create four large corners. Distribute onto select pages throughout the book. Staple (or tie) ribbon onto the tag-shaped cutapart.

Nest the two smallest Paisley Frame Die Cuts together, and adhere to one 4.25" flap, so it extends past the edge.

Trim the 4.25x12 strips from Pocket D into a various mat sizes to create variety throughout the book.

Why not make a special podium book for a graduate in your life? Let their school colors or the grad's interests guide you as you select the perfect page kit to create a custom album.
