The Aviary Card Kit makes a total of twelve handmade greetings. I love exploring unique card structures without having to spend extra money on expensive dies not used very frequently. This month, make a fun stand-up card and an accordion pop-up card with just a few simple scores and folds.
It's always fun to have a look at the cards "in action." Take just a minute to watch this preview video, if you haven't already!
Set A - Stand-up Cards
The card cleverly folds flat for mailing but has a front section that pops up for standing display.
Next, sew the plain or painted side of the bird-shaped wood button onto the lower right corner of the front cutapart panel. Simply tilt the bird to allow the flap to open and reveal the greeting inside.
Set B - Single Fold 5x7" Cards
The cutapart panel on the front of the card is made with one single piece of paper! Create the illusion of dimension by cutting a slot on the left and right edges of the vertical blue shape, slide ribbon through the slots, and tie a small bow. Finish with a wood button.
If you happen to have a texture embossing folder, run the Red panel through an embossing machine to add interest. The vertical version of the card features this cool laser cut kraft bird shape anchored with cutaparts and folded ribbon.
Set C - Accordion Pop-up Card
Score the White text weight inner panel to make a total of three mountain folds. Nest cutapart squares onto Mint mats and add to the flaps in a series of three rows and three columns.
Finally, the little "flags" pop up to reveal the artwork and a sentiment with plenty of room for a handwritten note.
