Happy Valentine's Day! I recently found myself seriously lacking in the greeting card department, so I reached for my trusty Idea Deck Volume 5.

Two of my favorite card making formulas are the two and three of diamonds. Which one should I work with? Why both, of course!

First, I selected papers from the Succulents collection for both formulas, and cut them according to the instructions. Instead of following the assembly instructions provided, I got a bit creative when combining the cut parts and pieces.

I decided I wanted double-layered cards, so I trimmed half of the A2 bases to 4x5.25" to nest (sandwich style) onto the card bases.

Finally, I added a bit of stamping, stenciling, and embossing along with a sprinkling of simple embellishments. (Note: Some sentiments are hand-written.)

In the end, this bucket 'o creativity netted me seven finished cards--I even have enough pieces left over to make two more.

How have you gotten creative with your Idea Decks lately?
