As soon as I learned what the theme was going to be for the January kit, I knew I wanted to make a star book. I made one a number of years ago, and I liked it so much, I thought it would be fun to make another with the Constellations collection.
Constellations 6x6 Star Book
The finished size is 6x6", and the pockets hold 4x6" photos.
Instead of paper clips, I punched holes and tied ribbons to connect the pages. I think it adds a bit of flair.
Rather than re-invent the wheel, I'll let Tricia walk you through the process in her TV Weekly video tutorial.
I varied my project slightly from the video; I pierced my holes at .5, 1.5, 4.5 and 5.5" along the spine. I've included a list of supplies I used below.
Constellations 6x6 Star Book supplies:
(7) 6x12" Navy Plain
(7) 6x10" Burgundy Plain
(7) 12x8" Grey Plain
(7) 6x4.5" Black Plain
(7) 6x4" White Plain
2.5 yards Waxed Linen Thread
(12) 5" Lengths Ribbon (from stash)
Additional Tools Needed:
12" Paper Trimmer
Needle
Bookbinding Glue in a Needle-tipped Applicator
ScorPal 1/8's
Bone Folder
